Fortress Party 2017 Retrospective, part 2 - Moulin Rouge

The Moulin Rouge was the after-nine room in 2017. At the top of stairs, there was a fully functioning red windmill. It was about four feet tall, not counting the glowing blades.

In the corner, a seven foot tall wooden carving of the Eiffel Tower.

The entrance to the notorious burlesque club was a shimmering curtain.

The walls were decorated with vintage French posters.

To showcase the effervescent spirit of the 19th century Parisian party, we had mannequin dancers wearing feathers, sequins, and berets.

We really wanted one of the dancers to be on a swing hanging from the ceiling, so we modified a Halloween decoration by putting a wig and corset on a ghastly swinging zombie girl. It was close enough.

Danielle from the Ann Arbor distilling company planned and pre-mixed a custom menu of delightfully French drinks, many of which were made from house-made absinthe, Chambord, Grand Marnier, and Champagne.  Our rotating cast of rouge-cheeked bartenders served these throughout the evening. It was tres magnifique while supplies lasted.
